The house is situated in a small village overlooking the lake of Carces, just a few miles from the town of the same name. It is almost equidistant from Nice and Marseille and only 40 miles from Saint-Tropez and the Cote D’Azur. There are three airports and two TGV (high speed) train stations you can use to get to the house – airports in Nice, Marseille and Toulon and train stations in Marseille and Aix-en-Provence.
Nice and Marseille airports are served by both the low cost and international airlines and Toulon is mainly used by the European lowcosters. If you choose to use the high-speed train from Paris it will only take you three hours from Paris to Marseille or Aix-en-Provence train stations.
Carces is a small town of approximately two thousand people and boasts a small but lovely medieval old town, an ancient castle ruin turned into a theatre and a lively Saturday market. There are several restaurants and shops with a supermarket on the outskirts, including a large wine co-operative shop.
